Our Windshield Replacement Process
Windshield replacement at Swift Shield Auto Glass follows a consistent, inspection-driven workflow for safe installation and clean results.
Inspection and Quote
We assess cracks, chips, glass type, VIN notch, tint band, sensor brackets, and molding condition. We confirm make, model, year, and ADAS features, then provide an estimate and scheduling options.
Vehicle Protection and Trim Removal
We mask paint and protect the dash. We remove wiper arms, cowl cover, mirror mount, and pillar trim as needed, using trim tools to avoid clip damage.
Cut Out and Prep
We remove the damaged windshield with a cold knife or wire tool, then prep the pinch weld for adhesion. We clean, degrease, prime, and treat corrosion when present.
Set the New Windshield
We apply urethane adhesive, position the glass with suction cups, align it for flushness and gap, then reinstall molding and hardware to spec.
Cure Time and Final Checks
We give safe drive-away time guidance, perform a leak test when appropriate, check wind noise risk points, and confirm clear visibility. For ADAS-equipped vehicles, we coordinate calibration and provide documentation when available.
