Our Windshield Star Break Repair Process
We repair star breaks in clear steps: inspect the damage, inject resin, cure it, and finish the surface.
- Damage inspection and repairability check: Our technicians measure the star break, check the number of legs, look for a floater crack, confirm distance from the edge and camera areas, and account for temperature and glass stress.
- Surface prep and cleaning: The glass is cleaned, loose shards are removed, and moisture is dried from the break so resin bonds correctly.
- Bridge and injector setup: We mount the injector over the impact point and create a tight seal on the glass surface.
- Vacuum and pressure cycles: Air is pulled out of the break, then resin is pressurized into the legs and microcracks until the fill looks uniform.
- UV light curing: The resin is cured with a UV lamp to harden the fill and lock in strength, with curing time adjusted as needed.
- Pit fill and finish: We apply pit filler, scrape flush, and polish the surface for a smooth, clear finish. The repair is re-inspected before you drive.
